The Common and COVID: as infection levels continue to rise and Southampton is placed in the highest tier, we all need to respect the rules and each other. When sharing The Common please observe social distancing at all times, be aware of others and share with care, it can get busy.

Somewhere to cycle, skate, walk, kick a ball or run in fresh air and away from traffic.

Somewhere to explore, make new friends and grow.

somewhere to cherish and nuture for the present and future

Somewhere to rest, relax and unwind, listening to the birdsong.

Somewhere to appreciate, observe and learn about nature.

The Common is the heart and lungs of Southampton; some 330 acres of “open” space within the City providing recreational, sporting and play facilities for City residents, as well as being an important walking and cycling route within the western half of the City. It means many different things to many different people.
